Etna Rosso
Fedegraziani Etna Rosso is the estate’s volcanic calling card: direct, articulate and built for movement on a serious wine list. It carries Federico Graziani’s signature without asking for the patience of the flagship wines. Same mountain. Same nerve. Less ceremony.
The fruit comes from the northern slope of Etna, mainly around Montelaguardia and Passopisciaro, where sandy, rocky volcanic soils shape Nerello Mascalese into something pale, tense and mineral rather than heavy. Nerello Cappuccio adds a little flesh and colour, but the wine stays firmly in Etna’s red-fruited, ash-dusted, high-energy register.
Fermentation is spontaneous in stainless steel, followed by 12 to 18 months of stainless-steel aging and further bottle refinement before release. No oak makeup, no forced drama. Just clean volcanic fruit, fine tannins, bright acidity and the kind of savoury edge that makes it extremely useful by the glass, especially for restaurants that want Etna without turning the list into a museum.

The producer
Fedegraziani is not the usual winery story. No inherited château. No dusty family myth. It begins with Federico Graziani, one of Italy’s most respected sommeliers, who arrived on Mount Etna through curiosity and stayed because the place refused to let him go.
Founded in 2006, the estate is built around ancient vineyards on the northern and north-western slopes of Etna, between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level. This is one of Europe’s most dramatic wine landscapes… Read more
