Mareneve
Mareneve is Fedegraziani’s high-altitude white from Etna, and it is not here to behave like a standard Sicilian white. Carricante and Grecanico meet Riesling Renano, Gewürztraminer and Chenin Blanc in a wine built around cold, altitude, volcanic tension and aromatic lift.
The fruit comes from Contrada Nave, near Bronte, on the north-western slope of Mount Etna, almost 1,200 metres above sea level. The vineyard was planted in the early 2000s, using the traditional head-trained system, in a place where the volcano feels more alpine than Mediterranean.
In the cellar, Mareneve keeps the line clean: spontaneous fermentation in steel, indigenous yeasts, no malolactic fermentation, long lees ageing and bottle refinement. The result is sharp, saline and fragrant, with enough texture to handle serious food and enough originality to wake up a wine list that has become too comfortable.

The producer
Fedegraziani is not the usual winery story. No inherited château. No dusty family myth. It begins with Federico Graziani, one of Italy’s most respected sommeliers, who arrived on Mount Etna through curiosity and stayed because the place refused to let him go.
Founded in 2006, the estate is built around ancient vineyards on the northern and north-western slopes of Etna, between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level. This is one of Europe’s most dramatic wine landscapes… Read more
