Rosso di Mezzo
Rosso di Mezzo is Fedegraziani’s study of finesse from a single vineyard. It began in 2018, when a rain-shaped harvest revealed something Federico Graziani did not want to ignore: a wine of unusual delicacy, clarity and grace. Not lighter in ambition. More precise in its language.
The wine comes from Contrada Feudo di Mezzo in Passopisciaro, from the small Cubito plot and related estate parcels on Etna’s northern slope. This is volcanic Etna at its most articulate: old pre-phylloxera vines, younger vines born from massal selection, dark volcanic ash, basaltic sand and strong day-night temperature shifts that stretch ripening and sharpen detail.
Spontaneous fermentation in steel keeps the wine transparent, tense and alive. A small contribution from tonneau-aged old-vine wine preserves the thread back to the historic vineyard, adding depth without weight. Rosso di Mezzo is a red for lists that value energy over muscle, elegance over noise, and Etna without the costume drama.

The producer
Fedegraziani is not the usual winery story. No inherited château. No dusty family myth. It begins with Federico Graziani, one of Italy’s most respected sommeliers, who arrived on Mount Etna through curiosity and stayed because the place refused to let him go.
Founded in 2006, the estate is built around ancient vineyards on the northern and north-western slopes of Etna, between 600 and 1,200 metres above sea level. This is one of Europe’s most dramatic wine landscapes… Read more
