Eclipse
Eclipse is Gentilini’s bold statement that Mavrodaphne can be more than the sweet wines people expect. This is the dry, powerful island version, grown near sea level in Minies on rocky limestone soils where the grape ripens slowly under intense Ionian light. Small, thick-skinned berries, tiny yields, and a site brushed by wild herbs give a wine that feels both concentrated and alive. Sour cherry. Wild mint. A touch of spice that comes straight from the Kefalonian landscape.
Fermentation happens in open vats and barrels, followed by a year of aging in a mix of French and American oak barriques. No fining. No filtration. Just careful handling and patience. The oak adds shape without noise, keeping the wine structured, sleek, and expressive.
Eclipse is the serious, age-worthy face of Gentilini’s reds. Dense but elegant. Aromatic but never heavy. A bottle that shows how far Mavrodaphne can go when it’s grown with discipline and bottled with intention.
Perfect for wine lists that want a Greek red with character, story, and a little island fire inside it.
