Cairanne

Lelektsoglou Cairanne is produced from 85 to 90-year-old vines in the Southern Rhône village of Cairanne. The wine is a Grenache-led blend, with Grenache making up at least 70 percent, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre.

The fruit comes from very old, low-yielding vineyards growing in rocky clay-limestone soils typical of Cairanne. Viticulture is carried out by long-standing growers trusted by the Lelektsoglou family.

Vinification follows the family’s traditional approach. The wine is fermented in concrete and then aged for approximately 12 months in a mix of used barriques and tank.

Cairanne is consistently recognized for its quality. Multiple vintages have received mid-90s scores from critics such as Jeb Dunnuck and Wine Advocate, who praise its richness, balance and depth.

Lelektsoglou Cairanne forms part of the family’s Southern Rhône selections and reflects their access to exceptional old-vine parcels and their long-standing relationships with top growers.

Jeb Dunnuck

93-95 - 2022 Vintage

The 2022 Cairanne Vieilles Vignes is a clear step up (although the 2021 is as charming and drinkable as they come), revealing a deeper ruby hue as well as a gorgeous perfume of black raspberries, wild strawberries, violets, and ground pepper. It's medium to full-bodied and has a supple, layered, elegant mouthfeel. It's a gorgeous, seamless wine readers will love.
