Vieilles Vignes de Gervans
Crozes-Hermitage
Lelektsoglou Crozes-Hermitage comes from the Vieilles Vignes de Gervans parcel in the northern part of the appellation. The vineyard consists of very old Syrah vines, 50 years and older, with some plantings dating pre-1950. The vines grow on the granite slopes of Gervans, a hillside sector located just north of Hermitage, known for producing concentrated fruit with strong mineral character.
The wine is 100 percent Syrah and is vinified in tank, followed by approximately 18 months of aging in used oak (larger casks or second-fill barrels) designed to preserve purity and respect the fruit. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Crozes-Hermitage Vieilles Vignes de Gervans is considered one of the standout bottlings of northern Crozes. The wine shows depth and tension from the granite soils and has been praised in top vintages, including strong critical reception for the 2015 and 2019 releases.
A benchmark old-vine Crozes, shaped by a top hillside site and long-standing grower relationships.

93-94 - 2022 Vintage
All harvested by hand (and not irrigated), the 2022
Crozes-Hermitage has a deep ruby/purple hue to go
with a gorgeous perfume of red and blue fruits, spring
flowers, violets, and a peppery, mineral sensation that
keeps you coming back to the glass. Medium to fullbodied and balanced, with a solid spine of acidity and
ripe tannins, it will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age
and, I suspect, have a solid two decades of prime
drinking.

Founded in the early eighties by Georges Lelektsoglou — once a trusted broker for the region’s icons, now a cult name in his own right — the house built its reputation on precision, patience, and the kind of confidence that doesn’t need to shout….
