Kontoura
Kontoura isn’t a grape that shows up everywhere. It’s a Boeotian native, stubborn and rare, with a name that literally means “short vine.” Samartzis treats it with the respect of someone who grew up among these soils — farming at altitude, keeping yields low, letting the grape speak for itself.
The result is a white with presence. Sharp mountain freshness, flesh from old vines, and a pulse that feels rooted in place, not in trend. It’s not about fitting into a category. It’s about reminding you that Greece still has indigenous grapes capable of surprising even the most jaded palate.
Samartzis Kontoura is local in every sense, but never provincial. A bottle that proves authenticity can travel far.
