Mavrotragano
Mavrotragano is a grape that doesn’t play nice. Thick-skinned, low-yield, full of power — it built its reputation on Santorini, but on Tinos it finds a different voice. Vaptistis farms it high on schist terraces, where wind and rock strip away excess and leave only precision.
The wine is dark, structured, and layered — black fruit, spice, earth, and a vein of salt that runs straight from the Aegean. Tannins are firm but clean, the finish long and uncompromising.
Vaptistis Mavrotragano is not made to charm at first sip. It’s built to hold your attention, to remind you that the Cyclades can produce reds as serious and demanding as any in Greece.

On Tinos, the wind doesn’t whisper. It howls. Most people hide. Yiannis “Vaptistis” Moraitis planted vines. Everyone called him crazy. They weren’t wrong—who builds a winery on a rock battered by the meltemi? But that’s exactly why his wines taste alive… Read more
