Cincuentenario
Over 50 years in the vineyard. Six months in oak. One unmistakably Atlantic Albariño. Pazo Cilleiro Viñedo Cincuentenario explores the more structured side of Galicia’s signature white grape, drawing on old vines from Val do Salnés, the birthplace of Albariño. The result is a wine with depth and character, while remaining true to the freshness of Rías Baixas.
The vineyards lie along a distinctive strip of clay-rich soils descending from Mount Castrove towards the Atlantic. Unlike the granite-dominated soils typical of the region, these clay deposits retain moisture through the summer, supporting vines that have been growing here for more than half a century. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented at low temperatures to preserve their aromatic expression.
Six months in 500-litre oak barrels bring additional texture and complexity without overpowering the fruit. Citrus, white peach and delicate floral notes meet a rounded palate, lively freshness and a persistent finish. A compelling choice for more ambitious seafood dishes, grilled fish and menus that call for a white wine with genuine presence at the table.
