Finca La Reñana Blanco
Finca La Reñana Blanco sits at the more serious end of white Rioja.
The wine comes from a historic vineyard planted in 1920, at around 600 metres in Rioja Alavesa, where old Viura and a small proportion of Malvasía grow on limestone-rich soils. The combination of vine age, altitude and site gives the wine both concentration and natural tension, allowing it to carry depth without losing definition.
Fermentation in French oak and 8 months on the lees add shape rather than weight. The palate is layered and composed, with citrus, white flowers, almond and fine spice unfolding over a mineral core. The texture is broad but controlled, the oak discreet, the finish long and precise.
It is a white Rioja with the poise of a fine European white: structured, age-worthy and built around balance rather than impact. The kind of wine that rewards a large glass, a serious table and a little time.
