De Nariz is Pedro Martínez’s personal exploration of Mediterranean Monastrell, built around old vines, altitude and individual parcels across Murcia. Rather than forcing the region into a single style, the project works vineyard by vineyard, allowing orientation, soil and microclimate to shape each wine.
Pedro brings an unusual perspective to the cellar. His career moved from sommellerie and gastronomy, including time around El Bulli and Arzak, into viticulture and winemaking. That background still shows in the wines: precision matters, but so does pleasure. The focus is not on making Monastrell bigger. It is on finding freshness, detail and different expressions of a grape too often reduced to power and ripeness.
The vineyards sit at elevations reaching 800 metres, with an average vine age of 53 years, dry farming and calcareous soils forming the backbone of the project. The result is a range that feels unmistakably Mediterranean, but never predictable. De Nariz is less about reinventing Monastrell and more about showing how much of it we still have not seen.
